چکیده
The regularities of natural (K-40, Th-232, Ra-226) and artificial (Sr-90 and Cs-137) radionuclides accumulation by embryonic soils and various organs of Taraxacum officinale Web. in rock waste disposal areas of the Kedrovsky coal pit in the Kuznetsk Basin were studied. The K-40 natural radionuclide causes major radioactivity of embryonic soils at rock waste disposal areas – its share in the total radioactivity is 91% and the share of artificial radionuclides in embryonic soils is about 1%. The absence of contamination of embryonic soils at rock waste disposal areas with the Sr-90 and Cs-137 artificial radionuclides was revealed. It was determined that the largest values of K-40 weight-average specific activity are typical of the explored organs of Taraxacum officinale Web. It was revealed that the content of the Sr-90 and Cs-137 artificial radionuclides in organs of Taraxacum officinale Web. is ranked as follows: leaves > roots > inflorescences. Cs-137 is more accumulated by Taraxacum officinale Web. and is 1.6...1.8 times larger than the specific activity of Sr-90. The ratios of Sr-90 and Cs-137 accumulation by various organs of Taraxacum officinale Web. are less than unity, which indicates that the plant does not accumulate these radionuclides. Hygienic assessment of the content of artificial radionuclides (Sr-90 and Cs-137) in various organs of Taraxacum officinale Web., which grows at the rock waste disposal area of the Kedrovsky coal pit, did not reveal excessive radiation in conformance with the Sanitary Rules and Regulations (SanPin) 2.3.2.1078-01 developed for plant-based nutritional supplements and is not dangerous for consumers' health.

Assessment of Heavy Metal Pollution of Medicinal Plants Taraxacum Officinale Web. Growing in the Kuznetsk Basin Areas Affected by Coal Production
We have studied the features of heavy metal accumulation in and have carried out a hygienic assessment of medicinal plants Taraxacum officinale Web. growing in various areas of the microrelief of the Kedrovskii coal mine rock dump. We have revealed a higher variability in the content of Cr, Mn, Zn and Fe mobile forms in the waste embryonic soils and have found that Cu and Zn content was lower t...
متن کاملQuantification of radionuclides and associated radiological risk estimation of coal combustion residues from a South African coal-fired power plant
Background: Radionuclides occur in coal combustion residues, such as fly ash and bottom ash, which are by-products of coal combustion. They pose potential radiological risks to people present in the surrounding areas. Materials and Methods: Gamma spectrometry was performed to determine the radionuclide activity concentrations in a coal-driven power plant located in the Limpopo province, South A...

Precisely describing the formation and evolution rules of coal-rock fracturing crack have great value on reservoir fracturing improvement and highly efficient mining of coal bed methane well. In this paper, a non-linear dynamic method is used to study crack damage evolution behavior of coal-rock fracturing. Considering distribution characteristics of natural cracks in coal-rock, and based on da...
متن کاملFundamentals of 3D modelling and resource estimation in coal mining
The prerequisite of maintaining an efficient and safe mining operation is the proper design of a mine by considering all aspects. The first step in a coal mine design is a realistic geometrical modelling of the coal seam(s). The structural features such as faults and folding must be reliably implemented in 3D seam models. Upon having a consistent seam model, the attributes such as calorific val...
